As part of the celebration of the International Museum Day, the National Museum realized the educational workshop “My first archaeological steps”, during which children were introduced to the basic principles of archaeology, research methods, archaeological sites and processing techniques of found artifacts.
International Museum Day was established in 1977 by ICOM (International Council of Museums), and this year’s theme “Museums for Education and Research” emphasizes the importance of museums as dynamic educational institutions that encourage learning, discovery and cultural understanding. By celebrating the International Museum Day and the European Night of Museums, the National Museum of Montenegro joined museums from over 150 countries in the world, in order to highlight the important role of museums as institutions that serve society and its development.
